They map not only geography, but also the geometry which emerges from the juxtaposition of nature and architecture in Malibu.
They also present natural cycles of change as the path of a perpetually accessible memory.
The images are simultaneously vivid and abstract, taming the landscape with surreal and compositions, and overlapping layers which are at times more visible than others, and which in the process of reproduction become memory itself.
The combination of technique and temporality invites viewers to read the narrative of a place over the course of the seasons in the years recorded by the photographer.
The resulting record covering a period of four years is presented in the Everybody Knows This is Nowhere exhibition.
