Arcadia is a place where girls learn to be dependent on themselves and on nature, not on technology.
They grow in understanding themselves and the world around them as well as in learning to live happily with others. New experiences of happiness, friendship, growth and being at home in the out-of-doors – these are our goals for each of our 170 campers from more than twenty-states different states and twelve different countries.
We hope you will enjoy reading about and seeing pictures of our Camp. Camp Arcadia, a residential summer camp for girls in the Lakes Region of Maine, has been operated by the same family for four generations.
As a family, we went white water rafting, sea kayaking, hiking, repelling, zip lining, etc.
We were amazed at how easy and natural each activity came to the boys.
Our goal at Wekeela is to provide a fun, exciting summer camp experience that helps your child discover new talents and interests, builds self-esteem and confidence and gives them the opportunity to establish lifelong friendships.
What makes Wekeela special are the strong, loyal bonds we create. Long after camp ends for the summer, we remain in touch.
Maine does not have a geographic community where you will find people of color , we are found all over the state though most of us tend to be in larger cities such as Portland or Lewiston.
